The “only true church”, or Kingdom of god/heaven would be something earthly churches aspire to and lead people to, not an inherent right that comes with priesthood keys.
I also hope to show in this and other articles in this series that Judaism, Christianity and Mormonism were created to be a symbol, or type/archetype of this heavenly church, but by failing to establish Zion the early saints also failed to establish & gather the temporal “true and living church” spoken of in D&C 1:30. In this article I hope to show from numerous scriptures in the New Testament, the Book of Mormon & the Doctrine & Covenants that the “one true church” of Jesus Christ mentioned in most of LDS scriptures appears to be a non-denominational “spiritual church” or heavenly church which manifests as a cultural movement and NOT some Christian sect such as the LDS ecclesiastical organization as has been established in LDS tradition. 67 Behold, this is my doctrine- whosoever repenteth and cometh unto me, the same is my church.Ħ8 Whosoever declareth more or less than this, the same is not of me, but is against me therefore he is not of my church ( D&C 10:67–68).
